We're Getting New Neighbors in 2 Days!!

Yay for good friends and good fun. Our future neighbors (future meaning they will be back from the honeymoon in 2 days) were married in a beautiful S. Carolina wedding over the past weekend. Bryon and David were fraternity brothers and a great big bro/lil bro combo. They are sweet friends. Dani and I were sorority sisters at Baylor, and though we didn't know each other too well then, we have found that we have LOTS in common and are looking forward to getting to know each other better. We flew to S.C. on Friday evening and arrived at our cute beach house at about 2 a.m. We rented a house with 2 other fun newlywed couples and really had a great time. Saturday was golfing for the guys and manicures/laying out for the girls. Boy do I LOVE laying on the beach. It is quite possibly the MOST relaxing thing for me. Sat. evening was the rehearsal and sweet rehearsal dinner. We crashed that night and woke up for worship on the beach on Sunday morning. Aaron and Taylor (the official 'wedding singers') played some songs and really led the group into an awesome time of worship as we took in God's amazing creation. Dani's dad then gave a sweet mini-sermon/talk. It was a great way to prepare our hearts for the celebration of David and Dani's lives through the wedding. Everyone then enjoyed playing frisbee, throwing the football, laying out, and playing in the ocean for a few hours. We all then went back to the house to get pretty for the wedding. Bryon was a groomsman and looked oh so handsome in his tan suit and turquoise tie. The wedding was breathtaking. Dani and her Dad walked up from the beach...it was a gorgeous sight. David was a tender hearted sweetie, and they did a really cool "sand covenant" in place of a unity candle. The reception was a FUN party. We enjoyed really good food (the chicken pasta dish was my fav) and really good music. We sent them off with bubbles and then went out with friends for the "after party." The Ballards, Webbs, and Arita's (us) were able to stay a few more days! We loved that! Monday we were LAZY and stayed in for a while then went to the beach to collect shells (for my Kindergarten cuties) and lay out. After the boys got antsy we went in and got ready to hit Charleston. What a cool city!!! We loved seeing the old slave markets, King Street, some awesome old plantation homes, and the Battery. We ate some really good fresh seafood at the Charleston Crab House and then went back to the house and watched You, Me, and Dupree. We went back to Charleston on Tuesday for a little more sightseeing and shopping. Went home that day and were a little sad to see DFW that evening. Charleston is definitely on the list of places to visit twice!! Enjoy the pictures of our fun mini-vacation.
